Wheels Workshop is a course for young people. It combines road safety discussions, driver/rider theory training, workshop skills and rider/driver practical training. The purpose of this blog is to show the great work the young people achieved in the autumn 2012 term at the Oakfields Project, Swindon, Wiltshire.

First week of Spring Term
We began the new term with revision of the training we did from September to December. I was very pleased the young people remembered a lot of important facts about judging following distance and driving at a safe speed. Revision is a really good way of encouraging the group to participate in the road safety presentations. After the recap we looked at the exciting things I have in-store for the project in January to March. More eyeopening road safety lectures, lots of workshop time with plenty of hands on experience and a few scooter rider training sessions as a reward for good commitment from the young people. In this first session I mentioned the need for a new workshop. We are currently looking for a 20' x 8' (approx) vandal proof container to use as a workshop at the Oakfields site in Park South, Swindon.
